

Salvatrice I. Vitale, a kind-hearted and wise soul, passed away on June 17, 2025, at the age of 81. Born in Sicily July 26, 1943, and became an American citizen in 1975. Salvatrice was a resident of Massapequa, New York, where she was known for her generosity and devotion to her family and community.
Salvatrice was the beloved wife of Emanuele married on June 27, 1970 and together had a beautiful family, and loved working with Eamanuele at the register and served customers " Slice and a soda" many referred to her as "mamma". She was quoted as saying "fai i bravi" which means "be good" She was a loving mother to Phyllis (Marco), Donna (Robert), Salvatore (Janelle), and Annamaria. Her cherished grandchildren, Julia, Gabriella, Marco, Domenic, Vincent, Salvatore, Adrianna, and Sebastian, were a testament to her enduring legacy as a cherished matriarch.
A great cook and baker, Salvatrice's kitchen was always filled with warmth and love, serving as a gathering place for family and friends.Among her many recipes she was most known for her Tiramisu, Anellini Al Forno and cuccidati (fig biscotti). A devout Catholic Salvatrice attended mass weekly and prayed the rosary daily. As a seamstress, she lovingly mended clothing for all who sought her skill, always eager to help with a warm smile. Her faithful and beloved presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
