Victoria Rose Castle

Victoria's life should not be measured in years, but in the love she shared, the knowledge she pursued, and the countless lives she touched.

With profound sadness and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of our beloved Victoria Castle, whose beautiful spirit left this world far too soon at the age of 25.

Victoria lived with a rare combination of brilliance, humility, and boundless compassion. She possessed an insatiable thirst for knowledge and an unwavering passion for understanding the world around her. A 2024 graduate of Stony Brook University with a Bachelor's degree in Geology, Victoria had already begun pursuing doctoral research, where her exceptional promise as a scientist inspired professors, classmates, and mentors alike.

At the time of her passing, Victoria was preparing to submit a research proposal to NASA to develop a method for dating sediments on the surface of Mars—a project that reflected not only her remarkable intellect but also her dream of contributing to humanity's understanding of our universe. Those who worked alongside her believed she was destined to become an extraordinary scientist whose discoveries would leave a lasting mark on the world.

Yet as remarkable as Victoria's academic accomplishments were, they were only a small part of who she was.

Victoria loved everyone and judged no one. She respected every person, every belief, and every walk of life. She had a rare gift for making people feel welcomed, accepted, and loved simply by being themselves. Whether someone had known her for years or had just met her, Victoria offered the same kindness, warmth, and genuine interest that made everyone feel important.

She was the gentle soul who filled every room with light, hope, laughter, and peace. She stood up for those who had no voice and remained steadfast in her values. Her contagious smile, infectious laugh, and quiet strength made the world a better place simply because she was in it.

Victoria found beauty everywhere. She cherished nature, music, science, and creativity. She loved creating music as much as she loved studying the Earth beneath her feet and dreaming about worlds beyond it. A lifelong vegetarian, she believed deeply in caring for all living things. She adored her beloved cats, Basil and Cinnamon, delighted in tending her vegetable garden, and found endless joy watching and feeding the birds that gathered at her feeders each day. She saw wonder in both the smallest moments and the greatest mysteries of the universe.

Above all else, Victoria loved her family with all her heart. Those who have gone before her and those she left behind. She was the treasured daughter of Maria Reinken & Andrew Castle and loved beyond measure by her step parents Ronald Reinken, and Athi Francis. She was the devoted sister and best friend of Alexia Castle and the cherished granddaughter of Andrew Castle, Vicenza Castle, Diogenes Stefanou and Athanasia Stefanou. Her love extended far beyond her family, embracing countless friends,

Although her time with us was heartbreakingly brief, Victoria's legacy cannot be measured by the number of years she lived, but by the extraordinary love she gave, the curiosity she inspired, and the hope she brought into every life she touched.

She leaves behind beautiful memories that will continue to bloom in every garden, every birdsong, every mountain, every stone, every star in the night sky, and every act of kindness shared in her honor. Those who loved her will forever find her in nature, in music, in scientific discovery, and in the quiet reminders that love never truly leaves us.

Our hearts are broken beyond words, but we are endlessly grateful for the gift of having known and loved Victoria. She was, and always will be, our light.
