She grew up in South Euclid and attended Charles F. Brush high school.
For many years, Dee Dee was dedicated to her work at Geauga Humane Society Rescue Village. She was well known for her passion in helping to care for animals and as Dee Dee would say, “animals are better than people.” Many who knew her were inspired by her commitment and compassion for the animals in her care.
Dee Dee was also an active member of the softball community. She was an athlete when she was younger, and her love for the game carried into her adult years. She was not only a talented, hard-working, positive teammate, but a caring and deeply loved friend.
Many of her memories with family were of the vacations that were taken together. Dee Dee loved warm weather and the beach, and was always up for a new adventure. She rarely passed up an opportunity to relax by the pool, drink in hand.
She was a light in this world. Her compassion and selflessness was appreciated by all of those who were lucky enough to know her. She was known not only for her kindness, but also for her sass and is described by many as a “badass” friend. She had a bright smile and an infectious laugh that brought joy to those around her.
Dee Dee is preceded in death by her beloved son, Robert (Bob) Schreiber, and her father Ronald DiCesare. It brings comfort to the family that she was welcomed by her loved ones and that they are together once again.
Dee Dee is survived by and will be dearly missed by her three children Scott Schreiber, Gabrielle Bondra, and Joseph Bondra, her mother Peggy DiCesare, brothers Norm DiCesare (Lori) and Jim DiCesare, sister Deb Soper (Rex), ex-husband Anthony Bondra, many nieces and nephews, and loving partner John McClain.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday March 7, 2021 from 2pm-6pm at DiCicco & Sons Funeral Home, 5975 Mayfield Road, Mayfield Heights, Ohio. Funeral Mass will be held on March 8, 2021 at 11am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6850 Mayfield Road, Gates Mills, Ohio.
