NICOLETTE J. MURZYN (nee Mazza), 79. Beloved mother of Melissa Murzyn Scott, Constance Murzyn and Ninette Murzyn, loving grandmother to Justin Scott, loving sister of Vincent Mazza (Pam), loving aunt to Jeffrey Mazza (Carla) and Christine Mazza, great aunt to Jenna and Christopher. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Geraldine Mazza (nee Pantalone). Former sister-in-law to Anthony (deceased) and Beverly Laddis (nee Murzyn), aunt to Tony Laddis (deceased), Dean Laddis and Dawn Pavone (Chris). Former husband, Robert Murzyn continues to always hold her in dear regard.
Nicolette will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She was a kind and gentle soul whose appreciation for the simple things in life and love of nature are treasures that she has passed on to her daughters that have been forever engrained in our lives and how we live each day. She loved the beautiful weeping willow trees in her backyard, sitting in the sunshine and taking long walks in the park with her family. A balmy windy day was her favorite kind of weather. She loved to crotchet and sew, and donated crotchet baby hats and bean bags to local charities and churches.
In her younger years, she enjoyed volunteering at Sunview Library, being a school lunch mom and was fondly called Miss Nikki. She especially enjoyed volunteering at the Rose-Mary Center assisting children with physical and mental disabilities. She had a soft, special way that was calming with young children.
Although Nicolette’s life was filled with the many struggles and challenges of living with a serious mental illness, she met each struggle with a resilient heart and kept her love for her family shining bright.
Nicolette, our mom will be very missed and forever in our hearts.
A private memorial and burial is planned due to Covid-19 restrictions at this time. A mass will be held at St. Clare Church at a later date to be determined.
