VERY REVEREND ANTHONY SCHUELLER, SSS "Fr. Tony" 71, was born January 31, 1950 to John and Mary (née Heilmann), both deceased in Belgium, WI. He is the brother of Donald, Gerald, John, and Kathleen (all deceased). He is survived by his sister Patricia and sister-in-law Clara Koepp. He entered religious life and the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament High School Seminary in Waupaca, WI in 1964, professed vows on May 8, 1970, and ordained priest on October 22, 1977. He was a gifted writer and speaker, and an extremely humble and kind man who touched many by his Eucharistic vision and living. His passion was collaboration with the laity, especially through the formation of our Associates of the Blessed Sacrament.
Through his gifts he held many positions in our order and church. He was Parochial Vicar in Albuquerque, NM (1977-79), Vocation and Novice Director (1979-84), Catholic Center Chaplain of the Diocese of Salt Lake City (1985-92), Emmanuel editor (1990-2002 and 2013-2019), Parochial Vicar of Saint Paschal Baylon, Highland Heights, OH (1991-95), Provincial Superior (1995-2002 and 2014-2021), Pastor Saint Jean Baptiste, New York, NY (2003-2013), Director of the Center for Eucharistic Evangelizing (2013-2015), Pastor Saint Joseph (Downtown) San Antonio, TX, (2019-21). Visitation and services will begin Friday, April 30, at 4:00 PM, Saint Paschal Baylon Church, Highland Heights, OH. MASKS & PHYSICAL DISTANCING ARE REQUIRED and there is a limit of 300 for the services. For the Order of Christian Funerals the following will be celebrated in church: Evening Prayer 4:00 PM, Vigil for the Deceased 7:00 PM (with personal reflections and memories shared about Fr. Tony), ending at 8:30 PM. The Funeral Mass is Saturday, May 1, 10:30 AM and will be live streamed www.church.saintpaschal.com. The Rite of Committal will be private.
