Charles D. Greene

Charles David Greene, 64, of Jersey Ridge Road died May27, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Greene was born in Minerva, Kentucky on July 30, 1946 the son of the late Carl and Fannie Jones Greene. He was a graduate of John G. Fee High School and served in the US Navy and was a member of Scott United Methodist Church. Mr. Greene retired in 1997 from Fluor Daniel Construction. He is survived by his wife, whom he married on July 1, 1988, Tarza Netter Greene; one son, David Small of Maysville; Six stepchildren, Tina Moore, Mickey Moore both of Maysville; Tya Patterson, Nikia Mickey and Chris Mickey all of Chillicothe, Ohio and Kenneth Small of Georgetown, SC; two grandchildren whom he helped raise, Ronald Smith and Sheana Smith and nine other grandchildren. He is also survived by five sisters, Hilda Hord, Velma Wilburn and Barbara Greene all of Maysville; Odessa (Charles) Steward of Sierra Vista, Arizonia and Linda McGriff of Rockledge, Florida; three brothers, Wendell (Earlee) Greene of Los Angeles, California; Ulysses (Chris) Greene of Texarkana, Texas and George Greene of Maysville; four sister-in-laws; four brother-in-laws; special friends, Dennis and Mindy Fulton; Jack and Rhonda Beard and Eugene “Chick” Morton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Kay Commodore, Betty F. Bradley and three brothers, Carl E. Greene, Jr., William A. Greene and John D. Greene. Funeral services for Charles D. Greene will be held at the Scott United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 4, 2011 with Rev. George Edwards officiating. Burial will be in the Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 7 to 9 PM at the church. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, KY 41056. The arrangements are entrusted to the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
