

Charles Edward Hord, 82, of Maysville, Kentucky died Sunday, June 21, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Hord retired from the Mays Department Store in Massapequa, NY. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Morehead, Kentucky. Mr. Hord was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served his country in the US Air Force. He was born in Washington, Kentucky on August 31, 1932 the son of the late George Dewey Hord and Janie Belle Gibbs Hord. He is survived by his wife, Mavis O. Steede Hord; one son, Charles L. Hord (Heather) of Scott AFB, Illinois; one daughter, Charlyse G. Hord Felix of Manassas, VA; eight grandchildren, Hyacinth Felix, Nickolas Felix, Zoe Rose Hannah, Trinity Hord, Destiny Hord, Isabelle Hord, Tristin Hord and Carmine Hord; two step daughters, Zelda Collins (Everett) of VA and April Batts of NC; eight step grandchildren, Marinda Morris, Mark Skerrett, Candice Evans, Blakeley Segers, Alexis Sterns, Donnis Collins, Everett Collins and Candice Collins; His extended mother, Gwendolyn French of Maysville, KY; his extended siblings, Robert French, Cheryl French and John French; Brother-in-laws, Elton Richardson and Danny Richardson both of Bermuda, McDonald Richardson of New Jersey and Wilbur Steede of Alabama and a host of family, church family and friends. Besides his birth parents, he was preceded in death by his extended father, John French; brothers, George A. Hord and Harlan Hord; sisters, Nancy King and Mary Hord. A memorial service for Charles E. Hord will be announced at a later date. Cremation services were provided by the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
