

Charles F. Jackson, Jr. (“Junior”), 91, of Maysville, Kentucky died Saturday, July 4, 2015 at The Care Center at Kenton Pointe. He was the widower of Mae Howard Jackson who died in 2010. Mr. Jackson retired in 1999 from the Mason County PVA office where he served for more than thirty-four years and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Orangeburg Christian Church, a life member of the Orangeburg Lion’s Club, a Kentucky Colonel, certified with the International Association of Assessing Officers and was an Honorary Commissioner of Agriculture. He was a past member of the Mason County Men’s Club, the Oddfellows Lodge and the Mason County Livestock Association and served as a 4-H Leader for twenty years. Mr. Jackson was a veteran of World War II having served his country in the US Navy where he was stationed in Guam during his tour of duty. He was honorably discharged in 1946 as a Seaman First Class Seabee. Junior was born in Fleming County, Kentucky on June 3, 1924 the son of the late Charles Franklin Jackson, Sr. and Jewel Jones Jackson. He is survived by his son, Mike Jackson (Marla) of Maysville, KY; daughters, Loretta Mitchell (Scotty) of Flemingsburg, Ky and Michelle Jackson-Rigg of Northern, KY; five grandchildren, Marsha Mitchell, Aaron Jackson, Grant Jackson, Zachery Rigg and Haley Rigg; his brother, Forest Jackson (Brenda) of Maysville, KY; two sisters, Ora Shelton of Lexington, KY and Ruth Tolle (Bill) of Maysville, KY and his sister-in-law, Velma Jackson of Maysville, KY plus numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother J. O. Jackson, his sister, Louise Doyle, his brother-in-law, Robert Shelton, sister-in-laws Ruby Jones and Elaine Dillon. Funeral services for Charles F. Jackson will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 8, 2015 with Rev. Norman Wasson, Rev. Jack Arrasmith and Rev. Marty Voiers officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Jackson, Aaron Jackson, Grant Jackson, Zachery Rigg, Joey Jackson, Owen Todd and Joel Todd. Honorary pallbearers will be C.P. Jones, Bill Sauer, Robert Marshall, Scotty Mitchell and Bill Tolle. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 5 to 8 PM.
