

Elizabeth Lucille McRoberts Hunt passed away peacefully Friday, September 2, 2011 in Shelbyville surrounded by her loving family. Her passing, while a difficult loss for those she leaves behind, means that she is now reunited with her precious husband of almost sixty-five years, Harold S. Hunt, Sr. Betty was born in Fleming County, Kentucky on July 24, 1926 the daughter of the late French and Nola Dickens McRoberts. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruth Mattix, Louise McRoberts, Helen Robinson and Eugene “Bud” McRoberts. After she graduated from Fleming County High School, Betty went on to graduate at the top of her class in 1945 from business college in Lexington. Betty was chosen to work at Wright Patterson Air Force Base where she served in the Judge Advocate General’s Office and she was always proud of her contribution to the war effort. After marrying Harold in 1946, Betty worked at Cloverleaf Dairy and Lucky Stride Shoe Factory and eventually became the credit manager at Montgomery Ward in Maysville. She was a longtime member of Seddon United Methodist Church where she served as Church Secretary, as a Sunday School Teacher, President of the Methodist Women, Newsletter Editor and a Bible School Teacher throughout the years. She is survived by four children, Anita Carol (Bill) Myers of Shelbyville, Harriett “Vonnie” Polley of Maysville, and Patricia L. (Rodney) Earehart of Springfield, Ohio; and Harold S. “Buddy” (Sharon) Hunt Jr. of Pensacola, Fla. She was the beloved Granmother to eleven; Tim Myers, Susan Myers Brown, Tricia Polley, Brian Polley, Mandy Polley Brajuha, Kelly Earehart, Kris Coolhart, Katie Earehart, Sydney Hunt Wilkinson, Noah Hunt and Ethan Hunt. She also had nine great-grandchildren; Taylor Blake, MacKenzie, Jameson, Trinity, Alexis, Christian, Luca, Jessy and Lyra and one great-great grandson, Domanic. She is also survived by a special niece, Wilma Insko of Maysville, who was like a daughter to her, a cousin Guy McRoberts and numerous other nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 with Rev. James L. Rawlings officiating. Burial will follow at the Elizaville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Hehr, Tim Teegarden, Jack Dwelly, Tim Myers, Kelly Earehart, Brian Polley and Chris Osgood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clifton Lewis, Herb Doyle, Raymond Bridges, Bill Dearing, Noah Hunt and Ethan Hunt. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
