

Glenn Allen (Mink) Lowe, Sr. lifetime resident of the Murphsville Community died February 20, 2013 at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. Mr. Lowe was born in Mason Co on January 26, 1922 the son of the late Judge Harry and Lillian Jones Lowe. He was a lifelong farmer, had been employed by the Parker Tobacco Co, worked for the Kentucky Artificial Breeding Association for 17 years and the Curtis Breeding Association for 5 years. Glenn owned and operated the Lowe’s Grocery in Murphysville for over 10 years. He was a member of the Shannon United Methodist Church, a former member of the Mason Lodge, was a Kentucky Colonel and loved to talk about the good old days and watching Kentucky basketball and Reds baseball. His wife Alice Morgan Lowe died December 30, 2007 after being married for 60 years. He is survived by two daughters Sharon (Larry) Myers of Lexington, Teresa (Donald) Jefferson of Murphysville, two sons Glenn Allen (Sharon) Lowe, Jr., David Lowe both of Murphsville, and one son-in-law John Keys of Lexington. He is survived by eleven grandchildren, Travis (Teri) Myers, Donna Merrill, Wendy Merrill, Lisa (Adam) Goldberg, Adam Keys, Sarah Lowe, Trevor Lowe, Trent Lowe, Scott Lowe, Katelyn Humphries, Andrew (Sarah) Jefferson, nine great grandchildren, Tate Myers, Tuff Morgan, Sam Goldberg, Brittney Merrill, Tara Weathers, Travis Merrill, Chance Merrill, Morgan McGee, Catherine Jefferson and one great-great grandchild Shay Lyn Merrill. Also surviving is his brother Ben M. Lowe of Maysville. Preceding him in death were two daughters Patricia Keys, Merena Lowe, one brother Harvey Lowe and two sisters Louise Phillips and Lillian King. Funeral services for Glenn Lowe, Sr. will be Saturday, February 23 at 1 P.M. at the Shannon United Methodist Church with Rev. E. Ray Throckmorton officiating. Pallbearers will be Travis Myers, Adam Keys, Trevor Lowe, Trent Lowe, Scott Lowe, Andrew Jefferson, Tuff Morgan, and Travis Merrill. Honorary bearers are Tate Myers, Sam Goldberg, Larry Phillips, Stanley Cracraft, Larry Dillon, Dick Clary, Buddy Pfeffer, and Kevin Galloway. Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery.
