Iona Pitakis

Iona Morgan Pitakis, 76, resident of Beverly Drive died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe. She was the widow of Chris Pitakis who died May 19, 2012. Mrs. Pitakis was born in Mason Co. on April 13, 1936 the daughter of the late Woodie and Bertha Myers Morgan. She had attended the Maysville Church of the Nativity and had been employed at the Security Bank and Trust Company. She is survived by two daughters Lisa McCarthy of Cincinnati and Kristi (Kyle) Wallace of Lexington, two grandchildren Christopher Hord and Rachel Wallace both of Lexington, a sister Joyce (John) Thomas, and a brother and sister-in-law Nick and Millie Pitakis, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Iona Pitakis will be at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home, Saturday at 12 noon with Rev. Chad Burn officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kyle Wallace, Christopher Hord, Nick Pitakis, Jr., Kenny Chris Pitakis, Cullen Thomas, Gregory Knipp, Cory Thomas, and Kyle Pitakis. Visitation will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Road, Maysville, KY 41056.
