Alma Jean Gilkison Humphries, 82, a resident of Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation facility died Saturday, November 17, 2012. She was born in Trinity, Kentucky on May 17, 1930 the daughter of the late Graham and Mary Alma Wills Gilkison. For many years, until her retirement, Mrs. Humphries was the loan officer at 5/3 Bank in Maysville, Kentucky. She was a dedicated member of the First Christian Church for over fifty years and an active member in the CWF. She was a member and officer of the Maysville Rotary Club. Jean was very active in the annual Rotary Farm Sale and the annual Rotary Horse Show. She actively supported UNICEF in the community and was a long term member of the Limestone Chapter NSDAR and was an avid bowler for over forty years. Jean is survived by her three sons, Roger Humphries, Mark Humphries and Dennis Humphries all of Maysville; five grandchildren, Randy, Sandy, Jason, Jeremy and Katelyn Humphries and four great grandchildren, Ben, Samantha, Corey and Abbey Humphries. She is also survived by three sisters, Margaret Kittlesby and Doris Gelini both of San Francisco, CA and Mary L. Irwin of Maysville and by three brothers, Jerry Gilkison of Maysville, Mike Gilkison of Foster and Gary Gilkison of Cold Springs, Kentucky. Preceding her in death was her husband, Leo P. Humphries, one son Terry Lynn Humphries who died at one year of age, two brothers, Oscar Gilkison and Bill Gilkison and one sister, Barbara Gelter. Funeral services for Jean Humphries will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 21, 2012 with Reverend C. Wayne Barnett officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from noon until the hour of the service.
