Marie Cooper Porter

Marie Cooper Porter, 90, of Maysville, Kentucky died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at The Care Center at Kenton Pointe. Mrs. Porter was the widow of Arthur Howard Porter who died August 30, 1998. The couple married on December 21, 1946. She was born in Robertson County, Kentucky on July 19, 1924 the daughter of the late Leroy and Tillie Jane Dodson Cooper. Marie was a member of the Maysville Church of the Nazarene since the age of five where she also taught Sunday School for fifty plus years. She was a special Christian lady who loved her family and her church family and friends. Mrs. Porter is survived by her two daughters, Judy Porter Hitt and Shirley Porter Fryman (Johnny) both of Maysville, KY; Three grandchildren, Julie Ormes (Kevin), John Fryman and Jeremy Fryman (Tiffany); Four great grandchildren, Christopher and Caitlyn Saunders and Kamryn and Konner Fryman as well as many special nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her husband and parents, Marie was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Richard Hitt, Jr., six brothers, Emmitt, Omar, Virgil, Chester Glenn, Ray and Freeman Cooper and two sisters, Thelma Morgan and Naomi Smith. Funeral services will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 2 PM with Pastor Lonnie Blosser officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Saunders, Jeremy Fryman, John David Fryman, Stanley Whalen, Steve Cooper, Doug Cooper and Paul Cooper. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 11 AM until the hour of the service. Memorials may be made to the Maysville Church of the Nazarene, 156 W.
