

Philip Denton Sapp, 68, of Maysville, Kentucky died Sunday, February 26, 2017 in Leesburg, Florida. Mr. Sapp was a retired Programmer Analyst with Emerson Power Transmission. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, a member of the Moose Lodge 1124, the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1564, an avid golfer, UK fan, Cincinnati Bengals fan and loved to do volunteer work with the Kentucky Gateway Museum and with Disneyworld. Philip was born in Maysville, Kentucky on January 1, 1949 the son of Elizabeth Ann Vice Sapp of Maysville, KY and the late James Denton Sapp. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Carol Jean Turner Sapp; two sons, Chris Sapp (Vicki) of Southgate, KY and Andrew “Drew” Sapp (Carol) of Dayton, KY; two grandchildren, Anthony “Tony” Sapp of Southgate, KY and Ilexis Carr of Palm Harbor, FL; one sister, Connie Sapp of Maysville, KY; two brothers, Jim Bill Sapp (Debbie) of Ft. Thomas, KY and Jeffrey Sapp of Mt. Olivet, KY. A celebration of life services will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Friday, March 3, 2017 conducted under the participation of his family members. Burial will be in the May’s Lick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Rau, Larry Aldridge, Jeff Sapp, Jim Bill Sapp, John McKinney and Ray Tolle. Anthony Volpone will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer. Visitation will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM.
