Shirley Ann Hickerson

Shirley Ann Hickerson, 66, of Maysville died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at St. Elizabeth - Edgewood Hospital. Mrs. Hickerson was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Union Church and she had formerly worked at Jockey International. She was born in May’s Lick, Kentucky on May 17, 1947 the daughter of the late Joseph Forest Purcell and Lena Lillian Violet Coombes Purcell. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Hickerson, Sr.; her son, Gerald Hickerson, Jr. (Bonnie) of Maysville, KY; her daughter, Cindy Knox (Dave) of Cold Springs, KY; Three grandchildren, Darren Hickerson, Lincoln Knox and Mylee Knox; one great-grandchild, Wyatt Hickerson; three brothers, Joseph Edwin Purcell, Roger Purcell and Charles “Tony” Purcell and her sister, Diana Phillips (Jerry) all of Maysville, KY. Funeral services for Shirley Ann Hickerson will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 11 AM, Thursday, April 10, 2014 with Pastor Dale Bare officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
