Virgina Baxter Scott

Virginia Baxter Scott, 89 of Maysville died peacefully March 3, 2013 at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. Virginia was born on November 18, 1923 in Higginsport, OH, the daughter of the late Paris Allen and Lily Mae Norman Prather. Virginia was employed for 26 years at the G.C. Murphy Co. where she retired. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Bradford Baxter who died in 1970 and husband Julian Scott who died October 2010. Virginia is survived by her children Norma (Estill) Earls of May’s Lick, William “Bill” (Marlene) Baxter of Walworth, WI, Tom (Rose) Baxter of Greenville, SC, Connie Hester of Maysville, Clyde Sidney (Sally) Baxter of Maysville and Marty (Cyndi) Baxter of Nicholasville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lisa (John) Lowe, Mike Earls, Joe (Becca) Baxter, Cortney (Ty) Burkhart, Diane (Chuck) Erle, David (Kris) Baxter, Jennifer (Kurt) Woodrich, Anna (Joshua) Darnell, Adam Baxter, and Jenni (Thomas) Magnusson. She leaves behind numerous great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers Tom Prather and David Prather and a special nephew Sam Prather. Funeral services for Virginia Scott will be March 6 at 1 P.M. at the Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Cox, Rev. E. Ray Throckmorton, and Rev. Marty Voiers officiating. Burial will follow in the Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Earls, David Baxter, Joe Baxter, Adam Baxter, Justin Baxter, and Christopher Lowe, honorary pallbearers will be Tom Prather, David Prather, Sam Prather, John Lowe, and Pat Helms. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.
