
Virginia Gilvin Hamilton, 92 of May’s Lick passed away on December 29, 2012 at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. Mrs. Hamilton was born on July 17, 1920 in Bethel, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Samuel Jackson Gilvin and Donna Bell Saunders Gilvin. She was predeceased in 1990 by her husband Henry Campbell Hamilton, whom she married in 1935, and by her son Henry Clay Hamilton who died May 5, 2010. She was also predeceased by six brothers, Marshall Gilvin, Dudley Gilvin, Samuel Clay Gilvin, Austin Dee Gilvin, twin brother Eugene Gilvin and Otho Gilvin.
Mrs. Hamilton worked at the Thoroughbred Inn in May’s Lick, did custom upholstery work and was an avid antique collector for many years and was a member of the May’s Lick Christian Church.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Cole Hamilton of May’s Lick; four grandchildren, Kavin Cartmell (Holton) of Maysville, Kirby Hamilton (Sandy)of Georgetown, Kentucky, Trent Hamilton of Lancaster, Ohio and Jennie Felice of May’s Lick and by four Great-grandchildren, Clay Cartmell, Hayden Hamilton, Felicia Felice and Blake Conley and one great-great-grandson, Karson Alexander Thomas.
Graveside rites for Virginia Hamilton will be held at the May’s Lick Cemetery on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:30 AM with the Reverend Phillip Cook officiating. Visitation will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Pallbearers will be Holton Cartmell, Billy Kachler, Kirby Hamilton, Trent Hamilton, Clay Cartmell and Blake Conley.
Interment will follow in the May’s Lick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, KY 41056.
