Wanda Joyce Hicks

Wanda J. Crawford Hicks, 68 of Magnolia Court, Maysville passed away August 20, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Born August 28, 1946 in Lewis County to the late Bill and Grace Crawford. She was a member of Thacker’s Chapel Christian Church on Indian Creek in Lewis County where she had attended since she was a small child.

Wanda was loved by many, as co-owner of First Lady Beauty Lounge from 1970-2010 along with Phyllis Pickrell and Kay Arthur of whom are very dear friends and also worked alongside dear friend Nancy Sellers. Wanda also enjoyed playing the piano, baking, gardening, spending time with her family and friends, as well as traveling.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Hicks and brother-in –law Gail Hilander.

Ms. Hicks is survived by her son Brent (Becky) Earles of Maysville; grandson’s Matthew and Connor Earles, granddaughter Mackenzie Grace Earles; two step grandchildren Madison and Clay Smalley; sisters Linda (Lowell) Haggard of Maysville, Naomi (Charlie) Hornback of Maysville, Juanita Hilander of Petersville, KY, Velma (Freddy) Riickert of Cynthiana, KY. Wanda will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral Services for Ms. Hicks will be Monday, August 24, 2015, 1PM at Knox and Brothers Funeral Home with Sister Jeannie Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Hornback, Rodney Hornback, Val Harris, Steven Teagarden, Wayne Mason and Gary Planck. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jonathon Mattingly and John Hilander. Visitation will be 11AM til the hour of service at the funeral home.
