
Wesley Preston Nichols, Jr., 90, of W. Algonquin Drive died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Nichols was born in Beckley, West Virginia on December 27, 1920 the son of the late Wesley P. and Susan Catherine Mahone Nichols. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War having served in the US Army. Mr. Nichols retired from the CSX Railroad after forty-two years of service. He attended the University of Kentucky and attended the First Christian Church in Maysville, was a member of the Mason County Men’s Club and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Beckett Mattingly Nichols; one son, Ronald P. Nichols (Pamela J,) of Franklin Furnance, Ohio; three granddaughters, Ronica Nichols Grimm, Vickie Sparks and Christina Nichols and four great grandchildren, Ben Sparks, Zach Sparks, Emma Owens and Aiden Grimm. Funeral services for Wesley Nichols will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Monday, October 31, 2011 with Rev. Steve Lesher officiating. Burial will be in the Wedonia Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, Kentucky 41056.
