Willena Hughes

Maysville - Willena Hughes, 94, of Maysville, Kentucky died Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. Mrs. Hughes was the widow of Howard Grant Hughes who died January 12, 2011. She was born in Tollesboro, Kentucky on August 14, 1923 the daughter of the late Horace and Edith Vermillion Williams. She is survived by her granddaughter, Allison McCance (Kevin) of Columbus, OH and three great-grandchildren, Adeline McCance, Oliver McCance and Elise McCance; sister, Betty Ross of Maysville, KY; brothers, Charles Williams of Indiana, Richard Williams of Alabama, Shelby Williams and Wayne Williams both of Maysville, KY. Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Jean Smith and her brothers, Wendell “Grassy” Williams and James Lorenzo Williams.

Funeral services for Willena Hughes will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Monday, November 20, 2017 with Rev. Jim Bob Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.
