

Zola E. Smith, 76, of Maysville, Kentucky died Friday, March 13, 2015 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center. Mr. Smith was a boilermaker and he retired from the Boilermaker’s Union Local 105, he was a veteran having served in the US Army from 1961 to 1963 and was a member of the Christ in Christian Union Church in Maysville, Kentucky. He was born in Grundy, Virginia on July 18, 1938 the son of the late William Smith and Ocie Stiltner Smith Davis. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean Wallingford Smith; daughters, Terri Garrelts (Richard) and Angie Applegate (Mark) and son, Tyler Smith (Ashley) all of Maysville, KY; nine grandchildren, Tiffany Muntz, Karrie Caudill, Amanda Caudill, Devin Garrelts, Gunnar Applegate, Kylee Howe, Carter Smith, Addison Smith and Landon Carpenter; five great grandchildren, Kenton Caudill, Kyler Burton, Jacey Muntz, Kason Muntz and Kohen Muntz; three brothers, Eugene Smith and Clarence Davis both of Maysville, KY and Roy Davis of California and one sister, Gladys Stiltner Saunders of Maysville, KY. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Grover Cleveland Smith and his sister, Ruth Harrison. Funeral services for Zola Smith will be held at the Christ in Christian Union Church, 1414 Forest Avenue, Maysville, KY on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Marilyn Roades officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be Rodney Smith, Roger Smith, Bobby Mineer, Tommy Jett, Lloyd Hutchison and Brian Bowling. Visitation will be at the church on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 5 to 8 PM. The arrangements are under the direction of the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
