Adalene Tolleson Hooten

Mrs. Adalene Tolleson Hooten, age 78 of McDonough, Georgia passed away July 19, 2015. She was born in Locust Grove, Georgia to the late James Samuel and Frances Lee Terry Tolleson. She was preceded in death by her brother, J.T. Tolleson. She was a member of Philippi Baptist Church and retired after 21 years as a paraprofessional with McDonough Elementary School. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and sewing. Survivors include her husband of nearly 59 years, Bernard Hooten; children, Karen Hooten of McDonough, Lynn (John) Toman of McDonough and Ken Hooten of North Carolina; grandchildren, Brianna Toman, Kyle Toman and Kendall Hooten; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Joey Seabolt will officiate. Interment will follow at McDonough City Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Drive, McDonough, GA 30253 or the National Parkinson’s Foundation, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018 in memory of Mrs. Hooten.
