Allen Donald Moore Sr.

Allen Donald Moore Sr., 85, passed away on August 17, 2026, at Piedmont Henry Hospital in McDonough, Georgia. He was born August 6, 1941, at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, to Alvin Denny Moore and Ruby Burch Coppege. He grew up in Marietta, Georgia, and attended Osborne High School.

Allen proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1983, retiring as an E-8 Master Sergeant. He was a Vietnam War veteran and remained deeply proud of his service throughout his life. After his military career, Allen worked as a truck driver for Werner Enterprises, where he proudly achieved the remarkable milestone of one million miles, and later as a Henry County school bus driver before retiring. He enjoyed collecting Army memorabilia and honoring the memories of his years in service.

Above all, Allen was a devoted family man. He loved his wife, Evelyn Elizabeth “Betty” Moore, with all his heart and was incredibly proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was known for his warm heart, selfless nature, wonderful sense of humor, and love of family road trips and adventures.

Allen was a man of strong Christian faith and attended Pinecrest Baptist Church. He loved Jesus and sought to live his life according to His teachings, showing kindness, helping others, and treating those around him with love and compassion. His faith in Jesus brought him comfort and strength throughout his life, and his family finds comfort knowing he is now at peace with his Lord and Savior.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; his children, Duncan (Astrid) Stewart, Cammie (David) Allen, Patricia Armstrong, Donna Armstrong, Cheryl Burns, and Allen Moore Jr.; his grandchildren, David Stewart, Bethany (Timothy) Stripling, Stewart Allen, Emily Jeffries, Brandon (Jessica) Allen, Christopher Stewart, Michael Moore, Joshua Allen, Caitlin Jeffries, Randi Jo (Blake) Hatton, Logan Moore; and his great-grandchildren, Hunter, Piper, Thomas, Isabella, and Oliver.

Allen leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He served his country with honor, loved his family with all his heart, and will be deeply loved and missed forever.
