Amelia (Ami) Spears age 54 of McDonough passed away August 24, 2014. Ami was a professor of psychology at Mercer University in Macon. She earned her bachelor’s degree at DePaul University in Chicago and earned her master’s and doctorate in cognitive psychology at the University of Oklahoma. Ami attended Cornerstone Bible Church where she was active in children’s ministry. Ami is survived by her husband, Tim Spears of McDonough; sister, Bonne Pileggi of Illinois; brother, Paul Barile of Illinois; brother, Peter Barile of Illinois; brother, Jeff Smith of Ohio; sister, Leonor Ariza-Barile of Mexico City; brother in law, John Spears of Illinois and sister in law, Dalene Welch of Minnesota. A memorial service will be held Monday, September 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Bible Church with Pastor Dave Riley and Pastor Joe Myers officiating.
