Angie Basista

It is with deep sadness that the family of Angie Basista announce her passing on June 10, 2021 at the age of 48 from breast cancer. Angie passed away peacefully at her home in Locust Grove, GA with her loving family by her side. We are forever grateful and are truly blessed in her presence.

Angie is best described as the ultimate full-time mom, always putting herself last, Angie's passion was her children. She was also a multi-sport mom at school being active with the volleyball, soccer and swimming teams as well as the school band. She was a beloved daughter, wife, and mother. Anyone that ever enjoyed her chicken parmesan or "mean" meatballs will attest to her skills as a phenomenal cook.

Angie's deep love of family, compassion and warrior spirit will live on through her college sweetheart and husband of 22 years Joe Basista, her son Michael Basista and daughters Victoria and Danielle Basista. She is also survived by those who set the example for her to follow, her parents Francis and Mary Attard and her brother Savior (Pauline) Attard along with nieces Christine, Rebecca, Tiffany and Mariah. Angie's love always extended to her father and mother-in-law Joseph and Hazel Basista, sister-in-law Tonya (Lou) and brothers-in-law Ray and Mike. Any mention of "family" for Angie would not be complete without including her dear friends Michelle Evarts and Kristi Shearhouse and of course Sofia !

A funeral mass will be at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church on Thursday June 24, at 10:30 AM with a Celebration of Life and a Sharing of Memories to take place on Saturday June 26 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. All those attending are encouraged to wear Angie's favorite color purple.
