Annie Wylian Upchurch

Annie Wylian Upchurch, 89 of Locust Grove, GA passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026. Annie was born on December 19, 1936 in Gillsville, GA to the late Wylie and Laura Gilmer Evans. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings Margie Brown, Carolyn Hulsey, and William Evans.

Annie moved to the Luella/Locust Grove community, where she spent most her life. She went to Henry County High School. She went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Jimmy Dois Upchurch on June 26th, 1954. She was a long time member of Luella Baptist church where she played the church piano for over 40 years. Ann as many of her friends called her loved to travel, sew and crochet. She was a devoted wife, wonderful mother and great friend.

Ann leaves behind her husband of 71 years, Jimmy; children Michael Wayne (Jamie) Upchurch and Annie Laurie (Todd) Moore; twin sisters Martha Walker and Marilyn Biles; 4 grandchildren Keith (Stacie) Upchurch, Michael Shane (Ariel) Upchurch, Christopher Ryan (Whitley) Moore, Abbey Elayne (Zach) Lind, and Lainey Caroline Earls; 4 great-grandchildren Charlotte Noel Lind, Michael Scott Lind, Wylie James Upchurch, and Lucy Olivia Upchurch.

Annie will be missed by many friends and family.

In lieu of flowers the family requests you make donations to Luella Baptist Church in Annie's honor.

Ann will have a Celebration of Life on March 25, 2026 at Luella Baptist Church, 3164 GA-155 S Locust Grove, GA 30248, at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends an hour prior from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A burial will follow services at Locust Grove City Cemetery.
