

Mrs. Barbara “Granny” Hosch, 80 of Locust Grove, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019, loving wife of the late David A. Hosch. Mrs. Hosch was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Toy & Velma Owen Christopher. Barbara loved sports, and played softball and basketball during high school. She loved traveling, dancing and trying her luck gambling. During her down time she enjoyed working in her garden, crocheting or doing puzzles in Word Find books. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro and loved her family. Mrs. Hosch is survived by her daughters: Lisa Whaley of Locust Grove and Dena (Scott) Miller of Moreland; granddaughters: Ivy Knowles, Jessica Whaley, Jennifer Whaley, Brittany Courie, Brooke Courie, Hallie Miller, and Hanna Miller; great-grandchildren: Sage Biggerstaff and Meadow Staver; brothers: Jack (Etta) Christopher and Larry (Willene) Christopher; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers: Delvin, Melvin, Hoyt, and Fred Christopher; and sisters: Helen Shaver and Ruth Reece. In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. The family will receive friends at Haisten Funeral Home on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 10:00AM – 12:00PM. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home at 12:00PM on Sunday, September 29, 2019 with Pastor Eddy Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Hoschton City Cemetery at 4:00PM with John Hosch officiating.
