Billie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her home was a joyful gathering place where Billie entertained her family and celebrated holidays with love. Her sharp wit and clever remarks often brought laughter to those around her. During Christmas, her home transformed into a winter wonderland filled with trees, decorations, and cherished memories. She also had a special appreciation for Halloween, which coincided with her birthday.
Billie radiated kindness and beauty with olive skin, warm brown eyes, and a thick head of dark hair that gracefully turned silver in her early thirties. She and her husband, Frank, enjoyed traveling, with a special fondness for cruises, the tranquil beauty of the North Carolina mountains, and the vibrant atmosphere of The Villages in Central Florida. Some of her most treasured moments were spent sitting outside in the gazebo with her beloved dog, Belle, watching the birds that visited her feeders and fountains. Her garden, filled with gardenias, azaleas, and japanese maples, became a sanctuary for her and the many creatures that found a home there.
Billie was born on October 31, 1947, in Eustis, Florida. She grew up in Fruitland Park and graduated from Leesburg High School.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; her daughter, Dena Tanner (Terry); her son, Glenn Golden (Melissa); granddaughter, Madde Thompson (Justin); grandsons Nick Tanner, Richard Tanner, Ross Golden, and Ryan Golden; great-grandson Johnny Banks Thompson; sister Nancy Lipps (Chip); and sister-in-law Cindy Gilbert, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
