Bonnie Faye Davis Carr age, 79, passed away at her home in Locust Grove, GA, on Saturday, May 21, 2022. She was born in Gadsden, AL on April 23, 1943, and was a 1962 graduate of Gadsden High School and a graduate of Georgia State University. She retired from Delta Airlines in 2001 where she worked for 23 years.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Pamela Kaye Carr, husband, Joe Allen Carr, father, Truman Hoyt Davis and mother, Willie Mae “Bill” Davis.
Bonnie is survived by her two children, Traci Michele Carr (Tony Jolley) and John Thomas Carr (Michelle Mancini), four grandchildren, Savannah Jo Fuller (Joshua Gilley), Garrett Lee Fuller, Roman Kameron Carr, and Presley Monroe Carr: brother, Thomas E. (Tom) Davis and wife, Diane of Gadsden, AL, and brother-in-law Tom P. Carr (Susan Sessions) of Atlanta and Marvin Moorer of Gadsden: Nieces and nephews, Sharon Moorer Garrison of Tampa, Alan Moorer, Ashley Davis Nordness and Stacy Davis Lee of Gadsden, AL. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
Bonnie married the love of her life in February 1962, Joe Allen Carr. She moved with her husband to Hapeville, GA where they lived for many years before moving to Locust Grove. She was a majorette at Gadsden High School, loved to dance, water ski and camping out at Town Creek with her family and friends during her high school years.
During her retirement, Bonnie devoted her life to her family and was Joe’s full time caregiver until his passing 2008. Family was very important to Bonnie and she proudly took on the title of “Nana” to her four grandchildren, Savannah Jo, Garrett, Roman and Presley. She loved nature and enjoyed many years surrounded by her family at her log cabin in Locust Grove. Her cabin was the gathering place for many celebrations with her family and she loved watching her grandchildren grow up and become young adults.
She was a loving wife, mother, nana, sister and friend and will be greatly missed by all. Flowers will be accepted. Pallbearers will be family.
Her family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00, Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Haisten Funeral Home, McDonough, GA. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation.
The family will also receive friends Sunday, May 29, 2002, at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home, Gadsden, AL from 1:00 to 2:00. Graveside services will be at Crestwood Cemetery immediately following.
