

Carleen White Mahaffey, 92, passed away April 26. Carleen was born March 18, 1923 to Johnie and Evelyn Mitchell White in Nevils, GA. She was the 5th of 8 children. In 1946, Carleen moved to Birmingham where she met and married Charlie Mahaffey. They later moved to Atlanta area where she worked at Rich's. While living in Doraville, Charlie and Carleen were involved in Northwoods Baptist Church. After they both retired they moved to McDonough, GA and were members of Bethany Baptist Church. Carleen loved to garden and sew. She and Charlie were married 63 hers, until his death in 2009. She continued to live in McDonough until moving to memory care in Buford in 2014. She is survived by son Thomas and Donna Mahaffey of Atlanta, daughter Diane and Ken Johnson of Fayetteville, GA, and daughter Donna and Jerry Webb of Buford, GA along with grandchildren David and Natalie Johnson, Scott and Debbie Johnson, Patrick and Christa Webb, Brian Webb, Jaime Webb, Jason Mahaffey, and Andrew Mahaffey. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Isabella and Dylan Webb, Calen and Quinn Johnson. Carleen is also survived by brothers Edsel and Virginia White and Bernie and Drucilla White and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Al O’Quinn will officiate. Entombment will follow at the Eastlawn Mausoleum. Friends may visit the family Thursday from 1:00 – 3:00 pm prior to the service. Contributions are asked to be made to the Bethany Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Mrs. Mahaffey.
