Cassilda Kirkpatrick- Chapman was born to the late Arnold McCalla and Theresa Matilda Tobin on January 4th,1928 in the Parish of Saint Catherine, Jamaica, West Indies. Cassilda attended the Ludford Mount school in Bois Content, Saint Catherine. She went to work at an early age to help support her family. She later met and married Martin Kirkpatrick but became a widow at the age of 32. After the death of her husband, Cassilda migrated to the United States of America, she arrived in New York in 1965 and went to work at Sky Chef Food Services at Kennedy Airport, Queens, New York. A few years later, Cassilda left to work at the Clearview Nursing Home, Whitestone, New York. She remained employed there until her retirement at age 79. In 1975, Cassilda met Charles Chapman, they got married sometime later. He preceded her in death. Cassilda was “Mom” to all who knew her, she was generous and took delight in her family and friends. Her home was always open and was the family gathering place for many years. Cassilda enjoyed a good laugh, was a fantastic cook, loved shopping and was very fashionable. She enjoyed being pampered. Cassilda was a woman of faith and an intercessor, she spent hours praying for her children, grandchildren and other family members. She was passionate about her relationship with Christ and constantly reminded us to “put Jesus first.” She loved the Word of God and had the ability to memorize entire chapters of the Bible. She was a faithful member of Jesus is Lord Ministry for many years. In 2010, Cassilda relocated to McDonough, Georgia where she resided until her death. After a brief battle with congestive heart failure, Cassilda passed away on January 14th, 2019 at the Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. She is survived by four sisters and four brothers. Her eldest son Barry preceded her in death. Cassilda leaves to celebrate her memory; her sons Kenneth, Roy, Jeff, Leon, Michael and stepsons Michael and Charles; her daughters Cynthia (Cherry), Marjorie (Pat), Gloria and Loris; sons in- law Alvin and Azariah; daughters in- law Barbara, Jacqueline and Vonnie; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; her best friend Bettye and her friend and personal companion Terry; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.

Her exuberant voice is forever silent,
