Catherine Anderson Wetzel

Mrs. Catherine Wetzel, age 85, of McDonough, GA passed away September 28, 2019. Mrs. Wetzel was born in Silverhill, AL, the daughter of the late Clarence and Phoebe Seaquist Anderson. She was preceded in death by siblings, Jeanette Stewart, Clarence “Red” Anderson and Eleanor Byrd. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, sewing, gardening and her cat, Miss Daisy. Mrs. Wetzel was employed with the FBI before becoming a full time homemaker. Catherine was a former member of Eastern Star. Catherine was an active member of Henry Baptist Church where she was known to lend others a helping hand and firmly believed in the power of prayer. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Frank Wetzel, Jr. of Stockbridge. Survivors are her daughter, Bonnie Yeargin (Brent) of McDonough, GA and her granddaughter, Ashley Meaders (Dusty) of Atlanta, GA. Her stepchildren include Robert Wetzel (Masako) of Florida, Beverly Rickabaugh (Larry) of Dallas, GA, Patricia Lambert of Ohio, the late Jeff Wetzel of Jackson, GA and Randy Wetzel; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on October 2, 2019 – 10:00 AM at Henry Baptist Church and the funeral service for Mrs. Wetzel will begin at 11:00 AM with Dr. Archie Norman officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Those desiring may send contributions to the Building Fund at Henry Baptist Church.
