Mr. Cecil Franklin Key of McDonough ,Ga passed away on April 29, 2021. Cecil was born in Lithonia, Ga to the late Nathan and Mary Key. He graduated from Lithonia High School and was known to be a man who liked to work. He enjoyed time farming and had Limousine Cattle (he even won a Grand Championship with his bull Turbo ! ) and even started his own companies, Key Curbing and Cecil Key Paving Company. He wasn't all about work though, Cecil was also quite the cut-up and loved a good laugh. A Filet-O-Fish sandwich with fries or a milkshake of any kind was guaranteed to put a smile on his face ! Cecil's life was kept in balance due to his love for the Lord. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and each morning his children would hear him praying and then he would share a daily word from his Bible and pray for them even if it meant making them late for school. Cecil enjoyed the love he shared with his "Doll" and his children above all else on this earth. Cecil is reunited in Heaven with his parents, 5 brothers, 8 sisters and his grandson Andrew Perry. He leaves a legacy behind that includes his wife of 48 years Brenda Key, his children Dawn (Dennis) Davenport, Christy (Kent) Bookout, Derrill (Joni) Perry, Danny Perry and Deborah (Sean) Ross as well as 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on May 1, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Haisten Funeral Home with funeral services to be held at Glen Haven Baptist Church on May 2, 2021 at 2:30 pm.

We are sorry we didn’t get to see you when we came by on Saturday night. There was such a crowd we were hesitant to go in since Sara had lost a brother a week earlier due to covid. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Cecil was such a nice person we know he will be missed by all who knew him.
