

Charles (Chuck) Pierce was welcomed into the arms of our Lord December 25, 2015. Chuck was born in Moss Point, Mississippi in 1928. He enlisted in the Navy during World War II, spending time in the South Pacific participating in the liberation of the Philippines. Chuck was honorably discharged in San Francisco, California in 1949. He was employed by Loomis Armored Car Service for 37 years, rising to Branch Manager over a 400 mile region of Central California. Chuck held the position of Exalted Ruler in the Fremont, California Elks Lodge, and he hand-built a large gazebo on the lodge grounds where many special events were held. Chuck was also a square dance Caller and loved to perform as a banjo player. He later relocated to McDonough, Georgia where he served as a Henry County Courthouse Bailiff for nine-and-a-half years, retiring at the age of 86.
He is survived by his wife, Lorena, eleven children, many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn, and four siblings.
There will be a graveside military service performed at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida, and a local memorial service will be lead by Pastor Joey Seabolt at Phillipi Baptist Church in Locust Grove on Sunday, January 17, 2016 beginning at 3:00 pm.
