It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cheri L. Preston, whose life was defined by dedication, family and the simple joys that made her uniquely special. She is survived by her husband Spencer Preston, her son Brent Gibbs and his wife Samantha and her 5 grandchildren, Kaiya, Kayla, Carter, Kadyn and Kaitlyn.
Throughout her career, she proudly served as an auditor for the United Stated Department of Veterans Affairs, where she dedicated many years to her profession with diligence, attention to detail and strong sense of responsibility. Cheri’s commitment to her work reflected the same determination and care she brought to the people she loved.
Outside of work, she had a few favorite pastimes that brought her happiness. She loved shopping online, and if there was a good deal to be found on Amazon or Temu, chances are she would find it. She enjoyed browsing for the next great purchase, discovering something new and having packages arrive at her door. She also found peace and happiness in the mountains. Whether enjoying the beautiful scenery, the quiet surroundings or simply taking in the fresh mountain air, she appreciated the beauty and calm that nature had to offer.
Above all else, her greatest joy and proudest blessing was her grandchildren. They held a special place in her heart and brought her a kind of happiness that nothing else could compare to. Her love for them was unconditional, and the memories she created with them will forever be treasured. They were her pride, her joy and a lasting part of the legacy she leaves behind.
She will be remembered for her dedication, her unique personality, her love for shopping, her appreciation for the mountains and most importantly, the deep love she had for her family. Though her absence leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, the love she shared and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
