

On November 11, 2025, Clifford Berry Johnson left this earthly life to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born in Swainsboro, Emanuel County Georgia, December 6, 1933, to the late Burch F. and Edith Berry Johnson. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 69 years, Ann Lott Johnson. Later God brought Mae Carreker Stephens Johnson into his life to be his wife and loving companion for the rest of his life. Surviving are sons, Clifford Berry Johnson, Jr. (Lisa), Burch F. Johnson, II (Jim Mendoza), granddaughter, Meredith Silliman, (Justin), grandson Nick Johnson and great grandson Christopher Paul Silliman, sister, Betty Jo Still (Paul) Niece, Paula Green. He is also survived by Mae‘s children; Karen, Darren and Lisa ,and their families. He was preceded in death by a brother, B. Frank Johnson.
His early years were spent in Swainsboro, Reidsville and Garfield, Georgia but he moved to Atlanta while he was still in elementary school. He was a graduate of Fulton High School, Class of 1952. Cliff and Ann were married October 24, 1952 in Atlanta, Lakewood Heights, and lived there until 1972 when they moved to Henry County.
Cliff retired from employment at the U.S. Penitentiary in Atlanta after 28 years of service. He and Ann then ran Frames and Stitches in McDonough for several years. When that business was sold he went to work for the Georgia Baptist Homes in Stockbridge for 15 years.
He was a faithful member and Deacon of The First Baptist Church of McDonough. He enjoyed genealogical research, was a skilled woodworker in his later years, and liked to make things for Christmas for his children, grandchildren and his friends.
A celebration of life will be on Monday November 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at McDonough First Baptist, 101 Macon St. McDonough, GA 30253. The family will greet friends an hour prior from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
