Clinton Harper Rutledge, 78, of Loganville, Georgia, went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021. He was born on Thursday, May 28th, 1942, to the late Alford Melton and Viola Harper Rutledge, in McDonough, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lamar Rutledge, Lanier Rutledge, Irene Meyer, Harold Rutledge, and Carolyn Williams. Clinton met the love of his life, Sandy, when he was 17 and she was 15. They wed and were married for 58 ½ years. He worked in printing for the majority of his life, owning his own printing company, CHR Printing, for almost 50 years. He was a very hard worker, he took pride in everything he did, and was always a man of his word. He was always a provider for and a protector of his family. Clinton loved The Lord. He loved playing softball and played in many tournaments and in games with his family on The 4th of July. He always liked to watch The Atlanta Braves play. He was an avid hunter, hunting big game and small, and loved raising and training his rabbit and quail dogs. He also loved to go fishing and often spent time in a boat with his family, at Black Shoals lake. He played a mean game of checkers and beat almost everyone that dared to join him at the board. He also loved to garden and to cut the grass. He generally just loved to be outdoors. He is survived by his siblings LaVerne Morris, Agnes Stapler, James (Jane) Rutledge, and Herman (Kim) Rutledge; his loving wife Sandy Williams Rutledge; his children Clinton Scott Rutledge, Stephen Kelly (Erin) Rutledge, Susan Rutledge, and Charlotte “Jana” Rutledge; his grandchildren Clinton Tyler (Kara) Rutledge, Amy Elaine Rutledge, and Elizabeth Kelly Rutledge; and his soon to be great-granddaughter Kynlee Ann Rutledge.
He was greatly loved by many, was a friend to everyone, and will sorely be missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, February 1, 2021 - 2:30 PM in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel.
