

Clyde G. Golden, age 81, of Jonesboro passed away September 23, 2014. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be greatly missed. Clyde was a proud Korean War Veteran proudly serving his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Riverdale First Baptist Church. Clyde was a Past Master of Riverdale Lodge No. 709 F&AM and was a Past Worthy Patron of Riverdale OES No. 446. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evonne Golden; daughter, Pam Golden; grandchildren, Susan E. Clotfelter, Sabrina M. Gregory and Blake E. Clotfelter. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Golden of Jonesboro; daughter and son in law, Barbara and Ricky Thurmond of Auburn; grandchildren, Gene Clotfelter and Keesha Jones of Tennessee, Michelle and Chris Reece of Conyers, John Sowell of Colorado, Larry Karr, Jr. and wife, Cherishton of Stockbridge, Travis Karr of Jonesboro; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Curtis Golden of Acworth; sister, Brenda Spinks of Kennesaw; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the chapel. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
