Daniel Bert Pickard

To the world, he was Daniel. To those who loved him most, he was simply Pop.

Pop was first and foremost a family man. He was the best friend and devoted husband every woman hopes for, a loving daddy, proud Pop, cherished brother, faithful friend, and the steady foundation of his family. His greatest joy in life wasn’t found in the things he owned, but in the people he loved. He lived with kindness, humility, unwavering faith, and a servant’s heart. He never met a stranger, always had a story to tell, and had a way of making everyone around him feel like family.

He found joy in the simple things, old westerns, classic country music, the oldies, cheering on his Tennessee Volunteers, and spending time with the people he loved most. Whether he was working with his hands, sharing advice, a joke or two or telling stories that somehow got better every time they were told, or simply sitting with family, he made ordinary moments unforgettable.

More than anything, Pop loved the Lord. His faith wasn’t something he only talked about it was something he lived every day. Through every season of life, he trusted God with quiet strength and unwavering hope. While our hearts are broken beyond words, we find peace knowing he is whole again, free from pain, and finally home.

Pop is survived by his best friend and beloved wife, Marie Lynn Pickard; his children, Danny (Misty) Pickard Jr., Mary Kathryn (Matthew) Jenkins, and J.D. (Nicole) Pickard; his grandchildren, Chandler (Sara), Dylan, Colton (Rebecca), Layla (Jacob), Olivia, Kiera, Brendan, Jericho, and Lilly; his great-grandchildren, Maddox, Beckett, Henry, Rylan, J.L., Peyton, and baby Daniel; his brother, Ray (Diana) Pickard; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the love, laughter, and memories he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Evelyn Pickard; his precious daughters, Stacy Michelle Pickard and Wendy Michelle Pickard; and his siblings, Buddy, Peggy, Gayle, and Jimmy, who we know were waiting with open arms to welcome him home.

Although our hearts ache with his absence, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that this is not goodbye. His legacy will live on in the stories we tell, the values he instilled, the love he poured into his family, and in every generation that follows. We can only imagine the glorious welcome he received when he Entered the golden gates.

His legacy of faith, love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family will live on for generations.

Visitation will be held at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253, US, on July 25, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location at 12:00 pm.
