

Mr. David James “Coach” Hogg, age 73 of McDonough, Georgia passed away August 23, 2015. He was born in Bermuda to the late David James and Dorothy Brown Hogg. Coach Hogg was an educator and coach in Henry County, Douglas County and Atlanta Public Schools for over 40 years. He played football at Auburn University, was a member of the Buckhead Boys Club and the Flippen United Methodist Church. He enjoyed football, riding horses, camping, Civil War reenacting, jogging and was an avid reader. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Judy Hogg of McDonough; children, David Steven (Angela) Hogg of Suwanee, Dorothy Amanda (Scott) O’Neal of Cumming, Kathryn Annette (Barry) Murphy of McDonough and David James Hogg, III; grandchildren, Ashlyn Hogg (21), Ansley Hogg (17), Shannon O’Neal (16), Karli O’Neal (13), Madison Murphy (6) and Audie Murphy (5); special caregivers, Renee Hathaway and Nicole Jarrett. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 1:00 pm from the Flippen United Methodist Church. Pastor Ken Huff will officiate. Friends may visit the family Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
