Born on January 26, 1944, David lived a full and meaningful life defined by hard work, humor, and devotion to his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. David retired from Fort Rucker, where he worked as a skilled helicopter mechanic. Prior to that, he spent many years as a truck driver, a job that suited his love for the road and storytelling.
David never met a stranger. He had a gift for conversation, always ready with a story and a laugh that could brighten any room. He also had a deep appreciation for old cars, enjoying their craftsmanship and the memories they carried, often sharing that passion with those around him. His sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Martin; his children Debbie Kerstein (Rich), Kristi Thames (Mikie), Jennifer Martin, Amanda Wright (Rob), Tonya Spicer; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother James Martin (Pam), extended family, and many cherished friends.

His family finds comfort in knowing he lived a life full of love and laughter and that his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
