Mr. DeVontae "Bernard" Griffieth, age 23 of McDonough, Georgia passed away April 25, 2020. He was born in Decatur, Georgia to Derrick and Georgia Lumpkin Griffieth. He graduated from Ola High School, Class of 2014 and graduated from Southern Crescent in 2019; he was currently enrolled at Mercer University, where he had made the Dean's List at both schools. He had recently been invited to join Alpha Sigma Si. He had been employed at Atlanta Orthopedic Institute, Publix and Atlanta Foot and Ankle. DeVontae enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, reading and studying. He was very quiet and reserved. Survivors other than his parents are his siblings, Jaquoia Rockmore, Derrick Bigby and Dylan Griffieth; grandparents, Alene Lumpkin and Connie Griffieth and a host of aunts, uncle, nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends; special friend, Amber Baskett.
A Celebration of Life for DeVontae Bernard Griffieth will be announced once the state mandate for the Covid-19 has been lifted.
