Dicey Walden Rodgers, age 77, of Mcdonough, Georgia passed away October 20, 2021. Dicey was born March 9, 1944 in Lumber City, Georgia and at age five, went to live at the Georgia Baptist Children's Home in Hapeville, Georgia. This is where she met her adoptive parents, Alonzo "Lonnie" and Clara Belle Rape. Dicey joined the Marine Corps and was stationed at Marine Corp Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. She married and after discharge, moved to Columbus, Ohio. Later she married Joe W. Rodgers and when Lonnie and Belle needed her, she moved back to Georgia. She was fortunate to have wonderful people like Mom and Pop and called McDonough home for the last 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe W. Rodgers. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 - 3:00 PM at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Joey Seabolt will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to the Henry County Humane Society in memory of Dicey.
