Donald Allen Shepard

Mr. Donald Allen Shepard, age 71 of McDonough, Georgia passed away March 12, 2018. He was born in Georgetown, Kentucky to the late Everette and Marjorie Lucille Smith Shepard. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Harris. Shep faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corp with two tours in Vietnam. He retired after 34 years with Delta Airlines and was a member of County Line United Methodist Church in Griffin. Don loved to spend time with his family, entertaining and attending family functions. He enjoyed the beach and was an avid golfer. He especially enjoyed a good bargain and wanted everyone to take advantage of his coupon foraging. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ronna Shepard of McDonough; children, Erica Shepard of Griffin, Christina Barter of McDonough and Jonathan (Christin) Shepard of Buford; grandchildren, Jesse, Skylar, Millie and Jackson; great granddaughter, Aurora; siblings, Wilma (Don) Daugherty of Kentucky, Joyce Cornett of Lakeland, FL and Everette (Carole) Shepard, Jr. of San Diego, CA. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 – 2:00 PM in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Edward Swehla will officiate. Friends may visit the family Thursday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service. A committal service with military honors will be held Friday, March 16, 2018 – 10 AM at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
