Mr. Dwight R. Palmer, age 39 of Oxon Hill, Maryland passed away July 27, 2015. He was born in St. Andrew, Jamaica to Winston Palmer and Ruby Segre on Wednesday, December 17, 1975. He attended Sunbeam Preparatory, St. Francis All Age, St. George College and Excelsior Community College all in Jamaica, Middleton High and Trident Technical both in South Carolina and Emmanuel College in Athens, Georgia. Dwight had worked for Publix in South Carolina and Athens, GA, Bojangles Restaurant in South Carolina and Teksystems in Maryland. He was awarded a certificate of appreciation for four years of outstanding service to CentroNia’s Family Literacy. Survivors include his mother, Ruby Segre; father, Winston Palmer; step-father, Urell Segre; brothers, Winston Palmer, Jr., Anthony Palmer, Mick Palmer, and Kevin Palmer; sisters, Sandra Palmer, Nadine Palmer and Charmaine Palmer; eight aunts, two uncles, nine nieces, fifteen nephews, cousins, the Brotherhood Family, co-workers in Maryland and a host of other families and friends from Jamaica, South Carolina, Georgia and Maryland. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 11:00 am from the South East Seventh Day Adventist Baptist Church, 60 Dailey Mill Road, McDonough, Georgia 30253. Friends may visit the family Saturday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
