Earl Dean

He is survived by three daughters: Cheri (John) Durrett, Betty Dean Coogler and Kristen (Wade) Toumbleston, 4 grandchildren

and several great grandchildren.

Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Moore Dean; parents Sherman and Lillian Williams Dean; and all nine of his siblings.

After being raised on the family farm in Harrogate, Tennessee, Earl served in the U.S. Army from March 1959 – March 1965, including duty at Fort McClellan and Fort Benning.

He rose to the rank of sergeant first class while developing his mechanical skills that served him well the rest of his life.

After his military service, Earl worked for Martin Brothers Elastic Webbing in Middlesboro, KY, Borden Foods in southeast Atlanta. He retired from Golden State Foods in Conyers, GA after 25 years of service in 1998.

Earl could figure out and fix most anything that was broken. It was a skill that was amazing to witness. In earlier years he was an avid gardener and had quite the green thumb.

Earl loved to fish and enjoyed a good southern home cooked meal. He also enjoyed gospel music and good conversations with his family, friends, and neighbors.

The family will have a private viewing and graveside service where Earl will be interred next to his wife Nancy.
