On October 2, 2018, Elizabeth Foster Hinely died peacefully at Tidewell Hospice House, following an extended hospital stay. She was 92 years old. After spending most of her life in Fulton and Henry Counties in Georgia, she moved to South Port Square, a senior living center in Port Charlotte, FL. in 2014.
Mrs. Hinely, born in Fulton County, GA, was the daughter of James Leon and Dessa Wilson Foster. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Raymond Ellis Hinely. She is survived by her sister, Joan Marchman and brother, Leon Foster. Other surviving family members include her daughters, Beverly (Mark) MacMahon and Nancy (Seth) Kimbrel, both of Punta Gorda, FL; grandsons, Bryan and Kyle Austin, and great grandsons, Hayden, Levi, and Jayce Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
While her daughters were young, Mrs. Hinely was primarily a stay-at-home mom. In later years, she worked beside her husband in the family business and then for Carroll Tire Company.
She was a member of Flippen United Methodist Church for fifty years and could always be found in the kitchen when a special meal was being prepared.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, Oct. 8th at Flippen United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Huff and Rev. Dave Riley officiating. Interment will be in the Flippen United Methodist Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be held at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough between 3 and 5 PM on Sunday evening, Oct. 7th.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in her memory be made to Flippen United Methodist or Tidewell Hospice House, Sarasota, FL.
