Elizabeth Thomas

Elizabeth Thomas, age 90, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Elizabeth was born March 19, 1932 in Locust Grove, Georgia to the late Elbert John Henry and Maudy Gertrude Chumbley McWaters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Thomas, Jr.; children, Michael Thomas, Pamela Dillard and Donna Sue Thomas; and by a granddaughter, Stace Kingerski. Elizabeth was retired from American Mills, was a member of County Line Baptist Church and had attended Philippi Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, watching her birds and attending to her flowers. She was an avid reader, especially her weekly newspaper. You could find her watching Dr. Pol, her soap operas and the World Champion Atlanta Braves. Survivors include her daughters, Gail Phillips of Griffin and Sheila (Bobby) Melton of Locust Grove; daughter in law, Lynn Thomas; grandchildren, Chris Phillips, Rachel Dillard, Tony Phillips, Stephanie Leonard, Ashley St. John, Shane Thomas, Dusty Thomas, Jonathan St. John and Rebecca Dillard; great grandchildren, Nathan Phillips, Audrey Rae Phillips, Buck Thomas, Mason Thomas, Ashlynn Kingerski, Cade Kingerski, Rena St. John, Logan St. John, Chase St. John, Kayle St. John and Landon St. John; great-great granddaughter, Charlee Faye St. John. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 18, 2022 - 2:00 pm in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service.
