Emily Holder

Emily Holder, age 75, of Locust Grove, Ga. passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022. Anyone who met her was instantly drawn in by her wonderful smile. She never met a stranger and she always made friends and family welcome. Emily enjoyed cooking and she would always make enough to "feed an Army". If you ever visited her at home she would have a meal or a snack ready for you and if you were lucky you got to enjoy her legendary strawberry cake!

To say Emily had a big personality would be an understatement. She was always the loudest and brightest person in the room. She enjoyed trips to the beach, music, dancing and shopping days followed by a big lunch. Emily loved big as well, especially her family. She is survived by her beloved husband Tommy who she spent more than 50 years married to. Her example will surely live on through her children Ron (Amy) Holder and Christy Young. "Memoo" was also the biggest cheerleader for her grandchildren Drew (Sadie) Young, Christian Young, Jayden Young, Ryan Holder Marissa Holder.

A celebration of Emily's life will take place at Sharon Church in McDonough, Ga. on Thursday April 14, 2022 at 2 pm. Her family will receive friends from 12 pm to 2 pm. Interment will follow at New Hope UMC cemetery. In keeping with Emily's joyful ways, all those attending are encouraged to forgo black and wear bright, cheerful colors.
