

Ephraim Leon Wheeler, 80, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025. He was born on October 23, 1945, to the late Rev. Archie and Miriam Wheeler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Wheeler.
Leon lived a life full of love, laughter, and faith. He was married to the love of his life, Janet Wheeler, for 57 beautiful years. Together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the kind of love that inspires everyone around them.
He was a proud dad to Virginia “Gini” (John) Muncus and Mandy (Tommy) Norwood, and a devoted Papa to Jarrett (Danielle) Muncus, Jillian Muncus, Bradley Glass, and Laney Norwood. He was overjoyed to know a new generation was on the way with his first great-grandson, Oliver Kilbourn-Muncus. Leon also leaves behind his goddaughter Lauren (Robby) Hufstetler, siblings Dot Camp and Anthony Wheeler, and many cherished family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Leon will be remembered for his quick wit, kind heart, and deep faith. He never missed an opportunity to encourage others, tell a story, or share a laugh. He loved his family fiercely, served others selflessly, and lived every day with purpose. His legacy of love, faith, and family will live on through all who were blessed to know him.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:30pm at Hampton First Baptist Church Located at 85 McDonough St, Hampton, GA 30228, on November 3rd, 2025. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00pm
